Freelance translator English > French since 1990, specialising in classical music.
I started working as a freelance translator in 1990, initially for Amnesty International. I kept that up while I was working full-time as a desk editor with L'Avant-Scène Opéra, which naturally led to my specialising in classical music.
Starting in the year 2000 I provided translations for UNESCO on a regular basis, up until the re-organisation of their information service. I also translated a number of general books, particularly practical guides, but also a volume on the Australian Aborigines for Gallimard's "Découvertes" series, a part of the Final Report of the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks upon the United States, and the memoirs of a Holocaust survivor. I'm now expanding into translation of fiction.
I work for European and American record companies and publishers, and for national and international organisations.
